2012 CHARLOTTE 95pt Pinot Noir 750 ml
2012 Charlotte Pinot Noir
Charlotte is a beautiful representation of the vintage. In the glass, the wine exhibits a deep ruby hue with indigo undertones. The nose is redolent with ripe strawberry and black plum, wet stones, orange peel and cola. The pallet is luscious and full offering fruit of blackberry and plum with hints of tobacco and sandalwood which glides across the palette balanced with bright acidity and silky tannins.

"The 2012 Dukes Family Vineyards Charlotte Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills, reveals its maturity through a medium ruby-brick center and a rim shimmering with light red-orange hues. Developing beautifully after 18 months in a mix of 50% new and seasoned French oak, the bouquet is remarkably savory, lead by aromas of cured bresaola and well-worn leather that meld into dried rose petals, stewed damson plum, and wild blueberry. While the aromatics suggest richness, the medium-bodied palate is surprisingly lithe and energized by a racy acidity, offering precise flavors of crushed loganberry and forest floor punctuated by notes of porcini mushroom and finely ground espresso. This tension between the earthy, tertiary notes and the persistent red fruit defines the long, elegant finish" - Jeremy Young
