2017 ALYSSA 94pt Pinot Noir 750 ml
2017 Alyssa Pinot Noir
The 2017 wines started fermentation and finished barrel ageing beautifully clean, going from barrel to bottle unfiltered; the results are enticing in the glass. Alyssa's Impressive aromatics offer notes of dusty rose and forest loam with hints of leather and spice, highlighting a backbone of strawberry and blackberry preserves. In the mouth, the approach is bright and balanced, beautifully coating the palate and filling the mouth. Smooth tannins and balanced acidity on the approach round bright red fruit and a lingering finish. While this wine will be approachable young, it will age and develop exceptionally in the cellar over the next 15 to 20 years.

"The 2017 Dukes Family Vineyard Alyssa Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills, emerges from a pristine, cooler vintage in which fruit was transitioned to bottle without filtration after 18 months in 50% new French oak. A brilliant garnet core leads to a shimmering tawny rim, signaling the sophisticated development of these 21-year-old vines. This bottling leads with a structured profile of vibrant acidity and velvety tannins that frame a dense core of marionberry jam and wild raspberry, mixed with lemony herbs. Earthy complexity defines the aromatics, where scents of dried hibiscus and damp cedar chips mingle with nuances of well-worn saddle leather and grated nutmeg" - Jeremy Young
