2018 CHARLOTTE 92pt Pinot Noir 750 ml
2018 Charlotte Pinot Noir
Named after our first grandchild, Charlotte, is fashioned using exclusively estate grapes harvested from the high-density, low-yield upper blocks of the vineyard. The intensity of this wine begins in the vineyard. Deep, rich, and complex in the mouth.
This wine is captivating in the glass displaying a dark garnet hue. This unfiltered vintage offers black cherry and toasted spice on the nose following with light seams of chocolate, coffee and tobacco on the palate. Generous fruit with silky tannins and a lingering finish make this delightful wine an easy drinker. Charlotte will open up and cellar nicely for years to come.

"Fans of the lighter side of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir should flock to this wine. The wine’s briary aromatic combination of blackberries and boysenberries is accented by notes of pie crust, bittersweet dark chocolate, and a hint of white-oak bark. Charlotte spins a silky web of acidity and texture to accompany flavors of cold, mineral-driven well water, marionberries, and black tea. The tannins are pleasingly integrated" - Michael Alberty

"This wine still shows some primary black cherry fruit, with softened tannins and highlights of peppery herbs"
