2009 Bella

The 2009 Bella is bright and beautiful, much in the vein of the inaugural 2008 vintage.  This selective, two-barrel lot balances the depth and complexities of the older 115 Dijon clone vines with the joyful, fruit-filled exuberance of the younger Dijon clone 667 and 777 high density vines. 

The aromatic complexities of the wine open in the glass to expressions of blackberry, earth, wild strawberry and cola.  The enlivening attack on the palate fills the mouth with layers of smoke and cinnamon building on a base of black cherry and spice.  The finish is smooth, full and lingers on the palate.                                      

2014 Bella

The 2014 Bella Pinot Noir is a small lot wine specially crafted for our wine club members blending the best barrels of younger vine, volcanic soil, high-density Dijon 777 from the top of the vineyard and older vine, sedimentary soil, Dijon 115 from the bottom of the property.   The wine is beautiful in the glass, exhibiting Deep ruby hue with hints of sapphire. The aroma is rich with sandalwood, strawberry preserves and black raspberry, orange peel and cola.  The pallet is full of opulent fruit of blackberry, blueberry and plum, with hints of tobacco and nutmeg. The wine glides across the palate with balanced, bright acidity and silky tannins.  Approachable now, but will cellar nicely for fifteen plus years.

2015 Bella

The 2015 Bella Pinot Noir  displays a deep black cherry hue. The nose is all savory and spice with notes of leather, cardamom, currant and bramble and just a hint of orange peel.  The savory notes continue on the pallet which is complemented by opulent fruit of blackberry and plum preserves. There are also hints of tobacco and nutmeg. The wine glides across the palate with balanced, bright acidity and silky tannins.  Approachable now, but will cellar nicely.
